WORKSHOPS Entitled "Secrets to Student Writing Success," "The No Fuss Writer's Workshop" and "Nailing Next Year's Writing Plans Now," these seminars illustrate unique, fun and effective strategies to teach narrative, persuasive and informational writing in an entertaining and painless package. 5-hour in-school workshops are often presented on teacher workdays or when subs can be utilized. A workshop of two 3-hour parts is also available. Cost: $2900+. In addition, numerous off-site workshops are held each year in hotel conference rooms across the country. Cost: $195 per participant.
EDUCATOR KEYNOTES "Anyone Can Write: It's Writing, Not Brain Surgery" and "The Reading/Writing DISconnection: Will Writing Instruction Finally Catch Up With The Changing Styles Of What Our Students Are Reading?" are 90-minute motivational, inspirational, humorous and informative sessions during which the foundations of Writing to Command Attention! methods are established, providing a springboard for writing-teacher confidence and enthusiasm. Cost: $1500
STUDENT GEORGIA WRITING ASSESSMENT SERIES September up to the GA Writing Assessment. Four 90-minute sessions per homeroom. Cost: $1600 for each homeroom for the four-session series.
AMAZING
ORIGAMI WORKSHOPS
This 75-minute classroom session of Japanese Paperfolding participation features gifts for the entire family, for 3rd through middle grade students. Origami sharpens coordination, improves the following of directions and diagram skills, encourages creativity, heightens understanding of math concepts, teaches problem-solving, and fosters social interaction and self-esteem. Cost: $850.
